VIRTUAL/REMOTE COMPUTERS

Connect to 外网天堂 virtual computers to access classroom and office applications even when you are off-campus.

CARD-SWIPE PRINTERS

外网天堂 multi-functional, card-swipe printers provide several unique options and features. Additionally, funds are pre-loaded on current students' and employees' 外网天堂 1Card each semester that can be used at any printing station. 

BORROW LAPTOPS & OTHER EQUIPMENT

At no charge, 外网天堂 New Media Center loans laptops, audio/visual equipment, and other technologies to currently enrolled students, and active staff and faculty members.

VState Online Students Only

Students enrolled in VState Online may request a loaner laptop for the term of their enrollment at 外网天堂. Laptops are in limited supply and are distributed in the order requests are received. Upon completion of or withdrawal from the program, the laptop must be returned to 外网天堂. Students are responsible for the protection of the laptop while it is in their care.

Request a Laptop:

  1. Complete the .
  2. Once processed, we will ship your laptop to the address provided on your agreement form.
  3. Once received, learn how to secure your data and protect your device. 

Return a Laptop:

  1. Contact your VState Online Advisor/Enrollment Coach.
  2. We will send you a return label and shipping box free of charge.
  3. Prior to returning, save any files stored locally on the computer to another storage solution such as Microsoft OneDrive, Dropbox, or a personal USB drive.
  4. Upon receipt, we will restore the device to the manufacturer settings. All files and settings will be lost.

Tech Support:

    This ticket system provides 24/7 access to self-help guides, and the ability to create and check the status of technology-related help requests that are serviced by 外网天堂 Information Technology and our partners, Center for eLearning and New Media Center. Sign into the portal using your My外网天堂 username and password. You can also add TSP to the Quick Links section of your My外网天堂 account for easy access.

    We offer live support over the phone through our 外网天堂 Solutions Center during business hours. When you call, be sure to let them know that you are a VState Online student, and be prepared to verify your identity.

    Students in the Valdosta area can also drop by our IT Help Desk on the 2nd floor of Odum Library during business hours.

Technology Recommendations for Personal Use

The following are recommendations for computer hardware and software technologies that meet most users' educational needs. These are not required, and you are encouraged to use whatever technology that fits your individual use-case and preference.

PROCESSORS:

  • Should be rated medium to high; anything lower is not recommended
  • Intel: i5 or i7
  • AMD: Ryzen 7 1700 or Ryzen 7 1800X

MEMORY (RAM):

  • Minimum: 16GB
  • Recommended: More, if your wallet can handle it. The more memory your computer has, the faster and more adaptive it will run. 

STORAGE:

  • At least 500GB if HDD (hard disk drive/spinning platter)
  • At least 250GB if SSD (solid state drive)

WIRELESS:

  • Minimum: 802.11ac or Wireless-AC
  • Recommended: 802.11ax or WiFi-6

TYPE OF COMPUTER:

  • Desktop computer with monitor, keyboard, & mouse
  • Laptops and Operating Systems (OS): Windows and Apple devices are good choices, but familiarity with the operating system you choose is most important
  • Hybrid Tablets, such as the Microsoft Surface Pro, are great for multipurpose use
  • Chromebooks or Netbooks are NOT recommended due to hardware limitations
