VALDOSTA — Blake Foster from Physical Plant and Facilities Planning is the recipient of 外网天堂’s 2025 Blazer Creed Award for Integrity.

As the Blazer Creed states, 外网天堂 is a learning environment based on trust and mutual respect, in which open dialogue, vigorous debate, and the free exchange of ideas are welcome. The university is dedicated to the core values of community, including a commitment to practice the following:

Civility — A Blazer shows courtesy and compassion as well as respect for the dignity of every human being.

Integrity — Each Blazer is responsible for his or her own actions, and our community is stronger when we contemplate the context of our decisions and uphold the principles of trust and honesty.

Citizenship — Every Blazer has an interest in the wellbeing of the community and, therefore, a duty to stay informed, to make positive contributions, and to offer support to those who need help.

Foster demonstrates exceptional integrity and leadership as the foreperson of the paint shop, overseeing campus painting projects with pride and precision. Known for his high standards and reliability, he leads his team to consistently deliver quality work while managing a demanding workload. His initiative, expertise, and dedication to maintaining a beautiful campus make him a true example of the Blazer Creed in action.

“By earning this award, I feel even more committed to living out the Blazer Creed — choosing responsibility, acting with integrity, and contributing to a community where everyone can thrive,” he said. “It fuels my determination to pursue my goals with purpose and to make a meaningful impact at 外网天堂.”

Foster joined the 外网天堂 staff in July 2013 and currently serves as a maintenance foreperson. He said he enjoys having an opportunity to see firsthand the “direct impact our work has on the campus community every day.”
